Students 4 Unity

Empowering student leaders to defend the college experience and take action against hate.

Jewish Students & Other Minorities Are Under Attack

A new wave of intimidation, harassment, and persecution of Jewish students and other marginalized groups has begun on college campuses. A growing segment of minority students feel left out, discriminated against, and unsafe on their own campuses.

The crisis is real and growing. A 2023 survey revealed that 73% of Jewish college students have experienced or witnessed antisemitism, and less than half feel physically safe on their campuses. Their fears, tragically, are not unrealized. Jewish students face increasing harassment on campus, subjection to outdated stereotypes, vandalism, and in some cases assault.

This Has to Stop.

Student Leaders Can Help.

Students 4 Unity is a nonpartisan movement to mobilize student groups in the fight against antisemitism and hate. We encourage everyone to take our pledge to create a safe and welcoming community for everybody.

We work with student leaders and groups to empower them to stand up for marginalized groups on their campuses. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration with student organizations, especially fraternities and sororities, we envision a future where everybody feels safe and welcome at their own school.

By signing our pledge, students reaffirm their commitment to respect campus policies, the student code of conduct, local laws, and the guiding principles of their organizations.

Greek Communities have long been symbols of unity, loyalty, and friendship, representing core values that develop leaders on campus, in local communities, and at the national level. Historically, members have defended traditions and stood proudly for the principles we all hold dear.

Today, it is vital that same spirit be mobilized to stand against rising antisemitism and bigotry on campuses. As influential voices in student life, the leadership of Greek organizations can set a powerful example that fosters inclusive environments and protects the rights of all students.

Together, we can defend what truly matters: a campus where everyone feels safe and respected.

Greek Life

Protecting Healthy Free Speech

We see it all too often: Activism weaponized into rallies of hate. While Students 4 Unity appreciates that college is a time to engage, debate, and in some cases challenge differing ideas and perspectives, we draw the line at the exclusion, harassment, and “othering” of minority students. Free speech should always be practiced and celebrated; hate should never be.

SIGN THE PLEDGE

  • As a student leader within the Greek Community, I understand my role in making campus a safe and welcoming place for myself, my brothers/sisters, and my peers.

Therefore, I pledge not to participate in or tolerate the intimidation, harassment, or persecution of my Jewish peers or other marginalized groups on my campus. I appreciate that college is a time to engage, debate, and in some cases challenge differing ideas and perspectives, but I understand that fostering division is antithetical to the purpose of that experience. Such division begets hate and the “othering” of my peers. As a member of the Greek Community at my school, I will play an active role in building up my campus community and appreciate that doing so will make me a better sister/brother, leader, and citizen.

I pledge to do my part to make my campus and community a safe and welcoming place for all my peers and will not tolerate actions that oppose that vision.

I pledge to respect campus policies, the student code of conduct, local laws, and the guiding principles of my organization to defend the dignity of all.
